Nielsen reports Americans watch TV at record levels...
It's up to 8 hours 11 minutes a day for the average American home:

Nielsen Reports

Table 1 seems to show that TV viewing stagnated somewhat during the Clinton years but took off after the Bushistas stole the White House.
Hmmmmm...makes one ponder...

1. I feel like I watch too much at 4-6 hours a WEEK.
Smallville, Heroes, Supernatural, Drawn Together, South Park, Iron Chef... and that's about it unless we pop in a movie on the weekend, and during all this I'm doing double duty on the computer or my exercise bike.

And that feels like too much to me! How can people DO that? :puke:

3. It's a symptom of a poor economy. It's cheap and easy to sit everyone around
the TV rather than spend money on going out for entertainment.

5. Sorry Nielsen, I don't buy your numbers
I haven't had my TV on for more than a few hours a week for the last three years. Before that, I'll admit that if I was home, the TV was probably on. That doesn't mean I was watching it. Base your numbers on more real wold information and I "might" beleive it matters what you say.
