is W the first incumbant pResident to spend most of his time campaigning?? |
|
I've been voting since 64, and I don't remember any other president who spent so much time campaigning for the party's positions (and attacking the opposing party for disagreeing) and for specific candidates.

Remember when he was criticizing Dems for opposing his policies during an overseas visit? It was for, I don't quite remember, but I think some commemorative occasion and he used the opportunity to bash the opposing political party. It was tasteless on so many levels.

2. Yes - and the thing that really pisses me off is that he is spending |
|
taxpayer dollars. What else can he do but campaign - god knows he doesn't know how to govern.

3. what do expect, for him to actually lead? |
|
Please the failure frat boy couldn't lead a working business venture, couldn't lead a baseball franchise, I'll wager he can't even lead his own little phallus to the urinal, Rove or other "handlers" do that for him.
Substance abusing individuals such as himself are sideshows best left to stumping for morally bankrupt, pedophiles and influence pedlars.

Actually, every minute he's spent in the oval office, every decision made has been about Republicans getting and keeping control, not upholding the Constitution and representing ALL the people. He's violated his oath of office over and over and over and has essentially been running a campaign for 6 years.

8. He knows how to campaign, |
|
but doesn't know what to do after that. As the wonderful Molly Ivins wrote last year, "the trouble with the guy is that while he is good at politics, he stinks at governance."
Campaigning, politicking, making backroom deals, that's all W understands. The rest is "hard work".

9. I really wish he'd campaign even more than he does |
|
When they make him stay home, he either starts a war, signs an unconstitutional bill into law, or writes a signing statement telling the world exactly how he's not going to obey the law he just signed.
When he campaigns...well, he's on the road campaigning. It's safer for America when he does this.
And it's not like he's going to convince anyone who isn't already voting for the Publican candidate to do so. None of them want to be seen with him anyway.

They're great (okay, that might be debatable) at campaigning. Lousy at the actual governing stuff.
