Malloy officially on KQKE San Francisco!!
It's official! Just posted on the KQKE website:

6AM - 9AM Stephanie Miller
9AM - 12N Thom Hartmann
12N - 3PM Ed Schultz
3PM - 5PM Rachel Maddow
5PM - 6PM Progressive News Hour
6PM - 9PM Mike Malloy
9PM - 11PM Randi Rhodes
11PM - 12AM Eco Talk w/ Betsy Rosenberg
12AM - 3AM Lionel
3AM - 6AM Bill Press

This is *wonderful* news. Al Franken seems to have disappeared from the lineup. Rachel commented that Air America has been fairly insistant on affiliates carrying Franken's show live. This may indicate that alternative media outlets (like NovaM and Jones)are getting healthier!

I'm a happy guy now!

1. Sucks for Randi fans.
Glad I get to hear her on the ride home.

I hope KTLK picks up Mike at some point.

3. Bad news for Franken and Rhodes, great news for Hartmann, Maddow and Malloy!
Looks like the affiliates are distancing themselves from AAR.

Too bad Randi will be delayed 9 hours with this new lineup. But notice that each show, from 3 AM–9 PM will be live, with no tape delay.

Perhaps some of the other Clear Channel progressive talk affiliates will follow a similar pattern.

8. What they say about Franken
They say, not an exact quote but the gist, "Rumors about Al moving into the political arena...It has been made clear to us that Franken won't be with AAR for the long term."

5. Ooo, that's gonna work well in the Bay Area
No overlap between Mike Malloy and Bernie Ward.

7. I tune in Randi from the Sacramento market in the afternoon.
Bernie Ward is my bedtime treat, and has been for over twenty years.
