It's just that Kerry was too stupid to be clear about what he meant. When's he going to get the fact that he just CAN'T make jokes effectively? I got what he meant, but his words could, indeed, be construed to imply that the troops are in the armed forces because they were too uneducated to do better with their lives.

Kerry truly needs to STFU. Right now, he should be explaining himself in a more conciliatory fashion, so that this stink will blow ever. As it is, this is all the media is going to be talking about, during these important days leading up to the election. Kerry f*cked up the 2004 election...does he have to f*ck up this one, too?
