My Letter of Support to Kerry - GOP Now Exposed to Massive Counterattack!!!! |
|
Dear Senator Kerry,
This latest GOP strategy should result in the biggest counter-attack in recent political history. You are given a gift like this once a decade at most!
This is a gift, an opportunity to exorcise the demons of 2004. The GOP has given you this opening, make sure you capitalize on it. Embrace this opportunity and show them what you are made of.
I can't wait to see Bush inject himself into this this afternoon - I mean, can he and Cheney be easier chicken hawk targets? Tony Snow plays with your words while Bush incompetently plays with American soldiers' lives.
Please, express my silenced rage for me!

1. MASSIVE is right... and that's how the dems need to treat it.. |
|
It's a brutal opening, and the dems should exploit it hundreds of times per day until the elections...

6. Thanks - I emailed it to his Senate office web-site. |
|
I wonder how many other Democratic heavyweights will respond. Will they rally or hide? I hope they see this incredible opportunity for what it is!

4. An easy counterattack: |
|
Remember the "where are those missing WMDs", "nope, not under here" joke and skit the president did? There's the true insult and shame.

10. Which "democratic strategists" do you mean? |
|
Do you have a link? Are these the elusive "democratic strategists" that Faux News quotes whenever the Ministry of Truth needs them to shape a story? Did you know that "Democratic" is supposed to be capitalized?

IF it is properly played. The Republicans have forced the focus back onto the troops and Iraq. If he uses the opportunity wisely, we can shine a spotlight on the failed policies of this administration and make them wish they had never brought it up.
BUT, it will take a commitment to not allowing ourselves to go on the defensive. He (Kerry)should go before the American people and say, "You know, a lot has been said about my comments which were mis characterized and completely false. But I'm glad George Bush mentioned respecting the troops, because I'm not sure how a commander in chief can demand showing respect to troops and agree that they should do so with inadequate armor. I'm not sure how George Bush can say with a straight face that respect should be paid to the troops, when he authorizes benefit reduction for those in harm's way. I'm not sure how George Bush can claim to have respect for the men and women of our Armed Forces, yet never attend a single funeral in their honor."
That's probably a good start. It will benefit from professional speech writers, but I think this is the right course.

13. I can only hope they use those lines! |
|
Or many other good lines, that unlike GOP talking points, are based on factual matters
