First, Bush makes his ignorant-ass, arrogant decision to invade a nation under false pretenses and guys like your husband pay the price for it.

Rumsfeld overrides the career military officers who have studied the situation in Iraq for years and refuses to send enough soldiers. Because of this brilliant move, we end up in the middle of a civil war. The Sec of Defense should be referred to as Ronald Dumsfeld, but I digress.

In the meantime, W gets his afternoon nappy, works out in his private gym and tells us lies packaged by Karl Rove. Obedient little shits, like Limbaugh and O'Reilly repeat these lies from the safety of their air-conditioned studios.

God bless you and your soldier. I support the troops. I despise the commander in chief and the yes-men and yes-women he surrounds himself with. There is nothing patriotic about this bunch of pretenders.

that they don't respect bush and are pissed at him for what he has done to them, how he has left them without proper equipment to do their job and keep them safe. AXELROD: Well, the White House is in quite a bind, Katie, because on one hand, it has to project some sense of resolve, certainly to keep appealing to its base. On the other hand, they read the polls, and they know that voters want a change in Iraq policy. But as far as any significant change, a White House official tells me, do not expect to see anything significant prior to Election Day. Quoting, "You're not going to see anything before November 8th. It would be political suicide, and Karl Rove would never allow it." (emphasis added)

COURIC: But why is it political suicide if so many people are unhappy with what's going on in Iraq? You would think that to save their hides Election Day, they'd want to change course.

AXELROD: Because this president is known, if for nothing else, for his resolve, for — even though they're trying to stay away from the phrase — staying the course. So to make such a significant change in two weeks' time I think would open — introduce more problems than suggest answers.

Soldier dies the death she said she feared


Jennifer Hartman, a Tamaqua high grad, is among three killed by a suicide bomber in Baghdad
By Wendy Solomon and John J. Moser Of The Morning Call Jennifer Marie Hartman, an exuberant Tamaqua High School grad who loved four-wheeling on all-terrain vehicles and all things that go fast, never expected to end up in Iraq.

But she was making the best of it, four years into her five-year commitment to the Army. She signed up right out of high school to get schooling to go into the medical field, said her dad, David Hartman of West Penn Township.

''When she signed up to go for schooling, the gentleman promised she wouldn't go to Iraq,'' the father said Friday. ''If there was any chance in hell that she would go to Iraq, I wouldn't have signed that paper. I guess even the Army lies to get you to sign up.''

The time since the explosion has been horrific for her family, David Hartman said.

He said Army officials came to his door four days ago and told him they believed his daughter had been killed but weren't sure.

''I said, 'Do you tell all parents you think their child is dead but you're not sure?''' he said. ''For four days we've been sitting here praying to God it wasn't her. We were in tears, not knowing whether we should worry. We were praying it was not the case, but in those days in between we're going crazy. I don't know how to explain it to you.''

He said the Army confirmed her identity through records of a previous foot injury.
