"Gaffes" are the only way to break through the corporate media filter |
|
Our biggest problem is that the media refuse to air our messages. The only way it seems we can ever get some air time is when one of our leaders commits a big gaffe or says something deemed to be "outrageous." That seems to be the only way we can get past the media filter.
I wonder if we should consider a media strategy that releases carefully planned "gaffes" that can attract attention. Then take advantage of the opportunity to turn the quote around and use it deliver our message or attack our opponents. Granted its risky but if done right it can reap huge rewards.

1. Unfortunately you are dead on. Kerry has made this comment many times |

before and the media never aired his remarks before.

2. I've been begging DEMS to consider this for years. |

You can always get your talking points into the media if you can get someone with media access (AKA the GOP) to open the door to them being repeated.

The truth will come out v-e-r-y slowly, but outrageous entertainment is right now. Rove can use the media because he knows that people will respond to a shouting match. Repukes shouting means "protecting our country." Dems shouting means "shrill."
