Dem's need to flank Bush with attacks from veterans. Shift the focus from Kerry
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 07:29 PM by Quixote1818
and make it a fight between Bush and Democratic Veterans. I think Bush scored some big points with his base on this. If we can shift the focus away from Kerry who the base hates and make it a high profile fight between Democratic Veterans and Bush we can absolutely wast Bush on this BS.

This is a gift if we play it right. If we play it wrong, Bush's base comes out more than before.

The key is for Vets to pick a fight with Bush then Kerry can sit back and watch the sparks fly. Of course Bush will shut up real quick if the vets get involved.

1. And also ask the flag wavers on the right.

why are they more outraged at Kerry's statements and not about the Bush's record in regards to the VA? Also about the lack of body armor for the troops in Iraq? How about the infamous Purple Heart Band-aids during the RNC convention in 2004?

3. OMG those Band-Aids
My blood pressure skyrockets (and I feel as though my lunch is going to come up too) whenever I see those pictures.

The insult was so cruel, so sickening... beyond words.

4. Yep, if we can move the debate in that direction we can waste the Repubs.
We can't let this die, we need to take this and run but we need to move Kerry out of the way and let others do the attacking. Kerry needs to shut up now. He gave a good response and made his point but now it's time for other veterans to start going after Bush point by point on Iraq.

2. We all know dirty tricks are a part
of election season. We expect it. But what I find absolutely irresponsible is that the president of the U. S., who is supposed to be president to all it's citizens, lashes out at one of them on television in order to prop himself and his party up. He opened his mouth and filth fell out. He is the worst president in my lifetime and shows it every day. Today, Mr. Bush was the Twister-in-Chief. he deserves no respect at all.

5. Kerry needs to sit down and STFU !!!
This guy has no sense of what people think OR he hasn't near
the vocabulary needed to be speaking out in public. This guy
could have had the election sewn up in '04 by being articulate
and halfway cool. Now he's handed an issue for the *ricks to
run with ......... and run with it they will !!!! They're
going to get milage out of this. Kerry is a disaster with too
many stupid gaffs to overcome. ENOUGH !!!!!!!!!!!!!

7. This could be a gift if Dems play it right. But as long as it's a war of
words between Bush and Kerry I think it riles up the Republican base and won't help us much. If we play this right we should thank Kerry for this wonderful gift!

8. Wrong again
I have been a proud Democrat for over 40 years. This election is the first time in 12 years that the tide had a chance to turn. I still blame Kerry for losing the election. "Let me tell you what I really meant", doesn't work for us....never has. They know just how to exploit this crap (if you haven't noticed) and it's a little too late to explain away gaffs like this when the CONS are always looking for something. Maybe he meant Bush...I don't know, but it sounded crappy and that's always been Kerry's problem. "I voted for it before I voted against it". Now, I know what he meant, but he'll forever be marked by this misspoken statement. He a friggin' albatross and fortunately he will learn this during the primaries.
