Point out that he's seen combat, bush hasn't.

Point out that he can call the war a disaster, bush can't.

Point out that he want's the maniacle rumsfled gone, bush doesn't.

What else.

Praise the troops, say, again, that they deserve leadership worthy of their sacrifice.

He should call it at 6 or 7 or 8 - cable news will carry it live.

I'm sure there are many more things he could say, but he has grabbed the spotlight, he should now use it in a big way.

2. He should shut the fuck up
this election is not about John Kerry. He's not even running. He should let the media change the subject back to something else besides his fuckups on the campaign trail.

8. agree
This election needs to focus on George Bush...................over and over and over and over.

Kerry needs to stay out of the way and let people watch the IraqNam news every single night and think, George Bush, George Bush George Bush.

It is now, thanks to Kerry's statements.

But of course, you'll take any excuse to bitch about Kerry, won't you?

I supported him and gave him money. He was a disappointing candidate. He lost (maybe) against George Fucking Bush.

I like other democratic candidates better than Kerry, and yes when he fucks up I don't hero worship him.
so sue me

And you attack him when he doesn't "fuck up." So sue me for noticing that you have never, ever, ever said one non-hostile thing about the man on DU.

14. I agree, this is riling up the Republican base and I doubt it's doing
much for our side. The only way we should keep this going is for Democratic Veterans to step in and shift the focus off Kerry. It has some advantages because it keeps the focus on Iraq. Veterans could attack Bush for never serving, scold him for playing politics with this and ask him to apologize for getting our troops into this mess.

47. I disagree...
Kerry would have a good opportunity to refocus the media attention on Bush's failures in Iraq and on the Republican slime machine...

A forceful, aggressive response would turn this to our advantage...

<snip>

Enough is enough. We're not going to stand for this. This policy is broken. And this president and his administration didn't do their homework. They didn't study what would happen in Iraq. They didn't study and listen to the people who were the experts and would have told them.

And they know that's what I was talking about yesterday. I'm not going to be lectured by a White House or by the likes of Rush Limbaugh who's taking a day off from mimicking and attacking Michael J. Fox, who's now going to try to attack me and lie about me and distort me.

No way. It disgusts me that a bunch of these Republican hacks who've never worn the uniform of our country are willing to lie about those who did.

It's over.

This administration has given us a Katrina foreign policy: mistake upon mistake upon mistake; unwilling to give our troops the armor that they need; unwilling to have enough troops in place; unwilling to give them the Humvees that they deserve to protect them; unwilling to have a coalition that is adequate to be able to defend our interests.

Our own intelligence agency has told us they're creating more terrorists, not less. They're making us less safe, not more.

He should have never made that comment, there were other ways to motivate students, there were better more appropriate ways to discuss problems with the volunteer service. What he said was inexcusable in my opinion.

6. Kerry isn't running, the media needs to focus on 2006 candidates
He needs to step back before he gets himself in trouble again. Its not his race, he has no right to hog the media spotlight and take the attention away from Dems who are running.

We have an election in 1 week. The focus needs to be on Dems in the races, not Kerry.

25. IMO he should share the spotlight with another vet who NEEDS it,
such as disabled vet Tammy Duckworth, or the vet who's running against Denny Hastert, John Laesch.

Then he needs to disappear from the media until November 8th at the earliest.

So people are just going to "Forget" about those other candidates. Newsflash: a lot of people have already voted. Here in TN there have been thousands of people who have gone out and already voted one way or the other. So you're telling Kerry to shut up about Iraq? I don't think so. People are dying.

37. Here's Kerry's problem
He spends his life defending troops and veterans who hate his guts and thinks he's an un-American traitor. He's like the geeky girl with glasses and braces who'll run and get soft drinks for the cool girls, in hopes of being accepted. In either case, it's not gonna happen. I'm NOT saying this is right, just that it's true.

He can argue about Iraq, and praise the troops till hell freezes over, but nobody's taking him seriously. Didn't he learn in 2004, that people just DON'T CARE what he has to say about the war? The veterans snubbed him, the majority of the troops voted against him, and ordinary citizens believed the Swift Boat liars.

Kerry's credibility is in the toilet, and he only makes it worse by putting his foot in his mouth like he did with this lame attempt at humor. All he had to say was ONE funny line, and he even screwed that up...if Bush had done this, we'd be adding it to the list of moronic "Bushisms".

Here's what John Kerry can do, to help the Democratic Party more than anything else: Stay the HELL out of the race in 2008, and STFU during the crucial weeks preceding Election Day. Let Democrats with speaking skills stump for our candidates!
