They are blaming liberals for losing the war in Iraq
Check any of the rw websites. It's the same old shit like Vietnam, "We coulda won if they didn't tie our hands behind our backs!"

1. Try again assclowns. Repubs have had the entire government and no Vietnam-style protesting. They
can't blame anyone but themselves and the situation.

6. The Wingnuts Lost Vietnam, Too
When you talk about "cut & run"...nothing says it more than Nixon's "Vietnamzation" and "Peace With Honor" dog and pony shows. The first was the admission that we weren't going to win there and that it was just a matter of time that the U.S. would get out...it just wasn't sure how (sound familiar??) and that the South Vietnmese would pick up the fighting load...and we would turn the fighting over to them. As you see all our "training" paid off real well when the NVA marched into Saigon in April '75.

Vietnamization was Nixon's trump card in the first election, Peace With Honor was the ruse he used in his second...prolonging the war as not to allow McGovern the luxaury of showing how Nixon had mismanaged that war and was exploiting it for political gain. The fix was in with the first "October surprise" when Hank (the skank) Kissinger declared "Peace is at hand" and then Nixon pushed to get the Paris Peace Treaties signed under the growing cloud of Watergate.

Not to mention the treatment our returning vets got from the "Patriots". Many were looked upon as losers...especially by the WWII vets who bragged about marching into Paris, while the Vietnam Vet sat alone in the corner reliving his horrors of the Tet Offensive...quietly. PTSD? Agent Orange? No such things. It was the "libruls" who lost that war. We're seeing history repeat itself.

8. The Vietnam era rw gents prefer to call it the "Vietnam Conflict"
Those motherfuckers have written a convenient fictional history where Vietnam was lost not in Vietnam but on the streets of Chicago.
Utter horseshit. I can only imagine how they will rewrite the telling of this particular loss.

18. We're Already Hearing It
I was on those streets in '68...there wasn't a person there...including the cops who didn't know Vietnam was lost by then. That happened 6 months earlier during Tet.

You are so correct about rewriting the history to fit their pathetic agenda. What's sad is they infected a generation with those lies and that's led to the silly flag waiving and neo-con attitudes that have led us right back into the same quagmire...even worse.

The script is already written just replace Jane Fonda with Cindy Sheehan and Jerry Rubin with Michael Moore. John Kerry gets shafted in both versions, too.

Cheers...

10. They had no reason, no plan and pushed dissenters away from the table.
I think it's sad when people try to blame others for their own failures. Instead of attacking us for being right maybe they should channel that hostility into finding a solution for the mess they made.

14. It never works that way. It was destined to end this way.
The occupation of Iraq was an all-time historic blunder along the lines of the German invasion of Russia, the rw shits are incapable of interpreting current events.

15. Well, yeah.

They always think that if they just killed a lot more people, they would have "won". In Iraq just as in Vietnam. Just as in Latin American, I/P, Korea.... It's just the way they 'think'. Somehow, someone, somewhere prevented them from killing enough people, or the right people, and Voila! Victory just flew out the window.

As for the funny idea that maybe killing more people wouldn't have worked...the classical Right knows no solution to problems other than suppressing/oppressing and killing the people who are the largest obstacles to their designs. When it fails, they truly don't know what else to do.
