Were Sen. John Kerry's remarks linking education to the war in Iraq appropriate? * 270484 responses

Yes; the military has long been a step up for those with less education. 18%

No; the comments implied that service members are not intelligent. 60%

They were misinterpreted or taken out of context. 22%

1. Bullshit wording in that poll. The correct answer is
Kerry correctly pointed out that the military was one of the few options in the Bush economy for ambitious young adults with low education, and did not in any way impugn anyone in the military or serving in Iraq.

None of the options in that poll are any good.

Are the American people this intentionally dense on purpose or are they just plain stupid? Anybody with half a brain who listened to Kerry's remarks would know he was talking about Bush and not the troops when he said "stuck in Iraq." How could anyone even imagine that Kerry would malign the troops with his background? Unbelievable...

7. Problem is that the mediawhores are just airing the soundbite itself.
You don't hear Kerry's context, just what's being spun as "calling the troops stupid". It's much like what was done with the Dean "scream" in a way, when they isolated the one microphone, and "forgot" to mention that Dean was trying to be heard over an excited crowd.

Wasn't it Martin Luther King who said "text without context is pretext"?
