John Fund claims to know "lots of people" in Maxine Waters' district
Edited on Wed Nov-01-06 01:05 AM by BurtWorm
And, like you and me, she just didn't buy it. From the transcript of Situation Room:

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0610/31/sitroom.04.html

FUND: ... I'm not protecting President Bush. But I am from California.

WATERS: Yes, you are.

FUND: And I know lots of people in your district. And you have told people in your district you want to end funding for the war.

WATERS: No, I have not. And you don't know lots of people in my district.

FUND: Yes, I...

WATERS: I'm sure...

FUND: I know lots of people in Compton.

WATERS: ... you would like people to believe that.

FUND: I know lots of people in Inglewood, absolutely.

WATERS: I do not represent anybody in Compton. So, let's get it straight.

You have been protecting the president. You have been trying to make sense out of this war that he got us involved in. We have almost 3,000 soldiers that have been killed, almost $400 billion of taxpayers' money that's been spent, between Iraq and Afghanistan. There's no end in sight.

He was sitting in the cheering section for Ronald Reagan.

Vile individual.

7. John Fund attended Cal State LA --
It isn't a bad school -- but the better students get into one of the University of California schools or attend a private or out-of-state school. Nothing against Cal State LA, but it is not exactly prestigious, and entrance is not coveted. If this man did not espouse extreme right-wing ideas, he would probably be a nobody. I think that a lot of the right-wingers are just very mediocre people who can't compete with educated people with normal, left and center ideas. Being right-wing is a good niche for the not-too-bright who want to get ahead.

3. This straight, white guy does not really know any of Maxine Waters'
constituents. Anyone from LA will know that right away. If you are middle class white, you only know people in that area if you have some professional or business reason for knowing them. That means you are a social worker, teacher, lawyer, judge or own a business in that area -- or maybe belong to Alcoholics Anonymous. What a liar!!! LA is a society divided by class. It is astounding how little the upper middle class mixes with the rest of us in LA -- just astounding.

5. As if just to look at him didn't tell you he's full of shit,
he gets the district wrong. If he knows people from Compton, why doesn't he (or they) know Maxine Waters is not their Representative? (Because they don't exist except in his twisted imagination.)

John Fund responded to my post of last night by sending an email telling me that he is friends with a black GOP activist named Ted Hayes, who hails from Waters' district. Good for him.
