against alito. i bet congressman chris shays of connecticut would if he were a senator.

4. i mentioned christopher shays but he's a congressman. he
defended clinton during the impeachment hearings. actually held a town meeting with his constituents and asked their opinion. it was televised. i cannot imagine my congressman (john shadegg) doing that.

5. it seems so far anyway that they have full party discipline
as if this writing, the screen shows that Snowe and Chafee has not yet declared their intentions, but Collins has.

13. Collins announced she will vote for Alito
My bet is both Snowe and Chafee will vote against. A certain amount of this is, sad to say, choreographed. Both Snowe and Chafee are up for election this year.
