I'd like to hear what John Kerry said before the botched joke.

I knew immediately he was talking about bush.

I don't think it really hurt, but I don't know if it helped either. There are those here at DU who are good at doing spin, too. It's probably better to leave the comedy to the comedians because we have some good ones.
