Corker Gets Laura Bush to Spout Lie

It's bad enough that Corker stretches the truth, but getting the First Lady to read his lies is beyond the pale.

Laura Bush told the Republican crowd: "Under Mayor Corker's leadership, Chattanooga's violent crime rate dropped by half."

Corker has traveled all over the state bragging about this remarkably dramatic crime reduction and even broadcast it in a TV ad. But both the blogger, R. Neal and the Associated Press determined that Corker is stretching the truth.

The F-B-I's annual report shows violent crime in Chattanooga did drop between 2001 and 2004 _ but only by 28-point-7 percent.

It appears that former Congressman Ed Bryant (R) was telling the truth when he accused Bob Corker of being the "king of lies."
