What was the joke? I am too stupid to get it I guess.

Is it a joke that one of the only opportunities for the uneducated is the military? Is it a joke that very few if any college graduates enlist in the military? Is it a joke that our countries resources have been squandered by this criminal Cabal in power? Is it a joke that more Iraqis have died since the US invasion and occupation than during Saddam's reign? Maybe someone could please explain to me what the joke is? :shrug:

4. The democrats have been pointing out lately....

...that Bush did not know any middle east history before taking us to war. For example, he did not know there were Shiite and Sunnis. So...yes, Kerry's joke was that if you don't study hard you do something stupid like taking the country into a war that it can't win.

3. The joke is that President Bush pooh pooh's education

He's makes a point of saying that he was a C student. His incuriosity is legendary. He's committed to ideology rather than knowledge - all of that plays into how he took us into Iraq, and why we are still there.

5. It was intended as less of a joke than a "jab" at Bush's intellectual laziness

He was apparently suppose to say something like:

If you don't study, if you are intellectual lazy, arrogant and oblivious to the facts, then you may get us stuck in Iraq.
