19. My sentiment, too -- what the hell do I care what his motivation is. . .
it's this type of twisted thinking that gives the concept of "politics" a negative connotation, when the reality is, without politics of some sort, very little could be accomplished in a democracy. A better question would have been to ask if we citizens support the filibuster, and what our motivation may be, since the possibility we would know the mind and motivations of a Senator are very slim. Hell, I'd wager there's a good portion of the nation that can't give an adequate account of their own thinking, let alone what moves another.
