I demand an apology!
A brief compilation of apology-worthy statements emanating from the White House.

=====

George W. Bush, 30-Oct-2006: "However they put it, the Democrat approach in Iraq comes down to this: The terrorists win and America loses."

So the President of the United States accuses his opponents of being on the side of the terrorists -- and in the process insults every single Democrat in the nation. In the process he plays word games, using an incorrect name for the Democratic Party. Where is the media on this -- where is the hue and cry for an apology to 50% of the population?

=====

Tony Snow, 15-Jun-2006, responding to a question concerning reacing 2,500 US dead in Iraq:

"Q Tony, American deaths in Iraq have reached 2,500. Is there any response or reaction from the President on that?

MR. SNOW: It’s a number, and every time there’s one of these 500 benchmarks people want something."

Where is the hue and cry that Tony Snow, Bush's spokesperson, should apologize to the troops for this callous remark? And where is the hue and cry concerning the fact that George W. Bush, the architect of this disaster, has not shown up at a single funeral for our fallen heroes?

=====

George W. Bush, 24-Sep-2006: "when the final history is written on Iraq, it will look like just a comma"

Tony Snow's defense of Bush's remarks, 5-Oct-2006: "Some people have tried to say, 'How dare the president refer to this as a comma? He's being glib about the deaths of Americans.' That's outrageous. And the people who say that know it," said the spokesman.

So Tony Snow defends Bush's remarks, and claims that the people criticizing him should know what he really meant. Funnily enough, there is no corroborating evidence for what Bush "really" meant by his remarks. While there are many quotes on record corroborating Kerry's claim of what he was trying to say. Where is the hue and cry for Bush to apologize for his at best insensitive remarks?

=====

Richard "big Dick" Cheney, 30-Oct-2006: "Dick Cheney said today the increase of violence in Iraq is linked with efforts to influence the outcome of next week's elections in which Republicans are struggling to keep control of Congress. "It's my belief that they're very sensitive of the fact that we've got an election scheduled <...>" Mr Cheney said.

So the message is, vote for the Democrat and you are furthering the terrorists' aims. Again, an outrageous attack on the citizens and politicians of this country who happen to have a (D) next to their names. Where is the hue and cry, demanding that Cheney apologize for this slander against his fellow citizens?

=====

George W. Bush, 28-Oct-2006: accusing Democrats of not wanting to "detain and question terrorists," not wanting to "listen in on terrorist communications," and not wanting to "bring terrorists to trial" -- all gross distortions of Democratic positions.

Again, Bush goes on record accusing Democrats not of merely being soft on terrorism, but outright not being interested in detaining them, questioning them, or bringing them to trial. Where is the hue and cry, demanding that Bush apologize for this slander against his fellow citizens and officeholders?

=====

And lest we forget one of the biggest lies to ever come out of this Administration, here is Bush's outright admission that the often-implied connection between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda and 9/11 is simply not true:

Bush and Blair, 31-Jan-2003: One question for you both. Do you believe that there is a link between Saddam Hussein, a direct link, and the men who attacked on September the 11th?

THE PRESIDENT: I can't make that claim.

THE PRIME MINISTER: That answers your question.

=====

As a U.S. citizen and a Democrat, I demand apologies for these and other similar callous remarks regarding our troops and their sacrifices, as well as scurrilous verbal attacks against fully half the citizenry of this nation.

Until such apologies are forthcoming, all I have to say about Kerry is: preach it bro'.
