Gov't Tells Singles No Sex Until Your 30.
Just take a cold shower and think of Jesus. And, be sure to wash your hands after.

http://abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=2619061

By BRIAN HARTMAN

WASHINGTON, Oct. 31, 2006 — If you're single and in your 20s, the federal government wants you to steer clear of sex.
That's the new guidance for states under the Department of Health and Human Services' $50 million Abstinence Education Program. HHS officials say it's not a requirement — just another option for states to combat what they call an alarming rise in out-of-wedlock births.

A record 1.5 million babies were born to single mothers in 2004, according to the National Center for Health Statistics. More than half of them were born to women in their early 20s.

"The government's clarification published in August is not a mandate," the Administration for Children and Families said in a statement prepared in response to ABC News questions. "We are unclear why Advocates for Youth suddenly believes (after two months) that States should be denied the flexibility to provide young adults with the truth that abstinence is the only 100 percent effective way of avoiding unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases."

The guidelines let states use federal grants to "identify groups" of people between the ages of 12 to 29 who "are most likely to bear children out of wedlock." After identifying the groups, targeted programs can then "support decisions to delay sexual activity until marriage."

17. Kinda reminds me of a bittersweet
routine some comic in the late 80's (forget his name now) did one time, on AIDS-prevention efforts. While lauding the attempts to reduce AIDS, he did a whole routine on "AIDS vs. the sex drive. The lizard brain, caveman sex drive. Yeah, right, I think we know who's gonna win on that one." It was funny, but poignant and bittersweet at the same time.

6. They are just trying to push the whole family thing and remind
women that it is completely unnatural to raise a child by yourself... It will lead to more "unfit" rulings in the future... A single mother is just more unfit to raise this child than these wonderful stepford parents... please you 27yr old pass over the goods... someone else has more money.

16. That was my first thought too.
Most of the women I know who had "out of wedlock" babies in their 20s knew full well what caused the pregnancies (I'm one of them!). Some of them even did it while simultaneously remaining abstinent.

22. Actually, it was illegal for even
married couples, let alone unmarried ones, to use contraception in far too many states prior to the Supreme Court's ruling in Connecticut v. Griswold in the mid-1960's, which struck down prohibitions on the use of contraceptives. We'll just be coming full circle soon, I suppose. I can't understand why most Americans would put up with this shit.

15. What's next, having to
meet with a gubmint counselor from the Ministry of Family Purity and Maintenance and sign our own "Personal Family Plan" at age 18, in which we promise to marry and pop out at least two kids by age 30, to only look for the "right" kind of partners in the "right" places, and where we pledge not to have sex until we're married on pain of imprisonment and/or other "punishments?" I cannot BELIEVE I'm seeing this in this country in the 21st century.

What do they think, that those under 30 are running around screwing every warm body they can find? Actually, that's closer to what those of us singles in our 30's and 40's are doing, but.......ooops, never mind, I just let the cat out of the bag on that one! :bounce:

27. The Christo-Fascists abstinence only policy is the reason there
is a record 1.5 million out of wedlock babies. By not promoting birth control methods such as condoms the christo-fascists are promoting singles from getting pregnant.

How many of these christo-fascists are tripping over themselves to adopt these babies???
Also, these women didn't get pregnant by themselves. Where is the accountability of the men that are knocking them up? Maybe we can get them to pay the $50 million.

finds out how good it is. They'll just regret that they weren't floppin' together when they were 18!

I imagine that this proposal will be the final straw for drive-in movies. There are only a few left now, and without sex I imagine that their business will dwindle.

Come to think of it, is this anti-capitalist movement. It surely puts an end to free enterprise.
