I'm just gonna say it: Imagine if Saddam was found 'not guilty' |
|
While I am certainly not saying he is innocent and I am not making a prediction - I don't think it is impossible. Corruption is so wide spread in Iraq that it could happen. While it would be horrible, I think it would seal the fate of the GOP for a number of years.

1. I think the verdict is already written. This is a show trial, in essence. |
|
But a bit of nullification would be a November surprise.

2. Such a trial should never have been held in an occupied |
|
country.
He should have been sent to the Hague as a war criminal. That would have exposed the Bush Crime Family to exposure, however, so of course it wasn't done.
A show trial of a horrible man by horrible men.

8. That's why they've limited the prosecution to crimes against |
|
Iraqis - Shi'ite or Kurd. Not crimes committed during the Iran/Iraq war or the invasion of Kuwait. They intend to execute him without him ever being tried for crimes in which the US is complicit.

5. And when he gets the death penalty |
|
The shit will hit the fan bigtime in Iraq (as if it could get any worse,) just in time for bush to hand off his tons of crap for someone else to clean up as he flys off to live in Paraquay, a country which does not have an extradition treaty with the U. S..

Because the media's just going to cover the verdict. You know how they are with verdicts.

4. If that happened, he'd get a secret job governing Iraq from the sidelines. |
|
Hell, even if he's found guilty, see if it takes a suspiciously long time to enforce any ruling. Maybe Rummy can send a letter of recommendation.

GOnna piss off the Sunnis if found guilty or the Shia if not guilty.
This is a totally no win situation for our kids over there.

There are three trials for 8 Defendents. Trial #2 is in process. Trial #3 has not been scheduled. It will be at least a year before sentences would be carrried out. Will all the Defendents receive the same sentence for all three Trial charges?

10. We've had this discussion here in our house. |
|
Wouldn't that just frost the repukes? What would they do? That would be THEIR Democracy in action. Rummy would accidentally drop a bomb on his head. That verdict could NEVER stand.
