GRAND RAPIDS -- U.S. Sen. Carl Levin today called on Democratic colleague Sen. John Kerry to apologize for controversial comments about the troops in Iraq, calling them a "botched statement by a former candidate who doesn't represent this party."

Speaking this morning at Wolfgang's Restaurant in Grand Rapids, where he was campaigning for Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm, Levin said of Kerry: "I would say I'm sorry for making a botched remark, admit that it was a botched remark."

5. you can't just turn off a news cycle
That's the big problem if you do not shut off a story before it has legs. It will take until Friday for this story to be over.

These people are actually campaigning and doing so many other things these last days. They don't have to keep up with what Kerry said and what he didn't. Kerry fucked up and republicans are having a field day now. Instead of talking about Bush's failures, the networks are talking about Kerry and who said he should appologize.

Everybody should know better from 04 campaign what these assholes are capable of. Rove is laughing his ass off now...
