Murtha Joins the Firing Squad!
Yes, even Murtha isn't on Kerry's side.

Vietnam War veteran Rep. John Murtha (D - PA) said Senator Kerry “needs to explain” what he meant by remarks made earlier this week. Commenting on the stereotype that troops are poor, Murtha said he has “always been for the draft”.

19. Murtha already came out saying he's certain Kerry didn't insult the troops
And as far as YOUR gal, Placebo, there will be plenty of time for her and her camp to enjoy her answers about the entire issue during the series of debates.

Democrats usually do have about TEN DEBATES, don't they?

Enjoy.

4. Your thread title is hyperbole
Murtha stating that Kerry needs to explain what he meant is not the same as saying Kerry needs to apologize.

Tweety is spitting all over the place right now, salivating that Kerry folded and apologized.

15. Last night Tweety was saying that he didn't think Kerry meant to bash the troops at all.
He said he knew what Kerry meant, that it was about bush and his mismanagement of Iraq and his lack of doing his homework going into the war and that he agreed with Kerry on that.

20. I saw him say that last night but did you watch him tonight?
Tweety did a complete flip flop. Spit was flying in every direction. He was definitely getting off on Kerry apologizing just like the Repugs wanted him to do.

13. Murtha: there is “no question in my mind that John Kerry supports the troops,”

Murtha: Kerry Flap ‘Just Distracting From The Real Issue, The War On The Ground’

Today on MSNBC, Rep. John Murtha (D-PA), a 26-year Marine Corps veteran, talked about the media flap over remarks by Sen. John Kerry (D-MA). Murtha said there is “no question in my mind that John Kerry supports the troops,” and that right-wing attacks on Kerry are “just distracting from the real issue: the war on the ground.”

VIDEO and TRANSCRIPT:
http://thinkprogress.org/2006/11/01/murtha-kerry-iraq /

In September, Reps. Murtha and Dave Obey (D-WI) released a report finding that the U.S. Army’s preparedness for war has “eroded to levels not witnessed by our country in decades.”

18. what a difference a source makes..
the echo-chamber in here is making me feel really weird. Like I'm stuck in a 60's party...there are beaded curtains in the doorway, it's really smokey, and the black lights are making everything look weird. The drug dujour is windowpane, the smell of incense attacks my nostrils, while Freebird is making my eardrums bleed, and over on the couch sit Tweety, Scarborough, and Pat Robertson...and all I can think is ..what is sanity?

22. Thank you SO much for the clarification. I feel better now, knowing that
Murtha didn't really say what the OP claimed he did.

Murtha's one of the good ones. As is Kerry.

16. Hell, maybe we don't deserve to be in charge.
As one wimpy Dem after another jumps on Rove's Bas--Kerry bandwagon, I can't help but feel that the Democratic Party just doesn't have the balls to lead. They never seem to stand up for anything or anyone in light of assaults from the right wing. Instead, they do exactly what Rove and the networks want them to do -- trash fellow democrats. Meanwhile, when Bush goes out and TORTURES people, his fellow Republicans leap to his defense and actually try to turn that deplorable behavior into a political asset. The GOP never apologizes for anything that any Republican ever does, but they seem to be able to force Democrats into apologizing for doing and sdaying things that aren't even wrong.

Screw that.

I'm beginning to care less and less about what happens to the Democratic Party, as it becomes more clear that they seem to care less and less about standing up to the Republican goon squad.
