McCain says the sight of soldiers with lost limbs is "uplifting"? Where's the outrage?
"I go out to Walter Reed quite often and see these brave young soldiers who have served and sacrificed so much. Many of them have lost limbs, as you know. And it's a very sad thing to see. But at the same time it's very uplifting."

He should apologize immediately for saying such an insenstive thing. Does he think they sacrficed their limbs just so he could feel good?

2. Let's not forget...
Let's not forget that he said this while campaigning against Tammy Duckworth, an Army veteran who served in Iraq and lost both of her legs. I'm sure she thinks it's totally uplifting.

5. Said in support of Tammy Duckworth's opponent
Yep. Pretty scummy. Also Tammy only has partial use of her right arm.

3. Let's see how "uplifting' it still is in 5 years..20 years..25 years

Those soldiers won't re-grow limbs.. they will be the very soldiers who will then be termed as "needy". "greedy" and "users of entitlement programs"..

Their future job prospects a severely limited. Their families (a LOT of them) will be stressed to the breaking point.

When a 24 year old Daddy comes home with no legs, his children are gonna be in for a rough time..and maybe the 22 yr old mom might not be able to accept the fact that she will now be part-Mom, part-nurse/advocate.

The parents of soldiers who might have had a leisurely retirement ahead of them will not be able to count on the help of their grown son/daughter...instead they may be caretakers of their injured child for life..

War-injured are always "left behind" once the "rah-rah...go team" stuff ends.. they are a legacy to mistakes made..

4. Surprised?
He campaigned on his POW credentials and I had no problem with that until he threw them to the gutter to lick W's sphincter.

Fucking hypocrite (I almost NEVER use that term).

God help me, he's my senior Senator, and he's even more of an embarrassment than Kyl. Blech.

7. I haven't heard any Democrat take issue with his words.
Wonder why that is...

I highly doubt the media will make it an issue on its own. Dems needs to bring it up during a televised interview so it can't be ignored.

mccain is a douche bag.

11. sounds like he's happy
that our troops are having their limbs blown off -- is this some sort of sign of the progress we are making in Iraq?
