From the woods of Vermont to the heart of DU.......THANKS!
No matter the outcome, DUers can take pride in our collective efforts opposing the Alito nomination.

If the Rubber Stamp Congress thinks WE`RE going to sit quietly by as they tranform the Supreme Court
into a majority vote for the doctrine of unitary executive, they`d better think again. If Wolf Blitzer thinks he can gain a few more viewers by connecting the filibuster to Kerry`s 2008 ambitions rather than his values, then we`ll have to email him about our "OFF" buttons. If the DLC and some Democratic leaders think they can convince us to moderate into Republican-Lite clones while we`re writing checks to their campaign funds, they should stare at the word....ZERO.

DUers are on a roll, whether or not we win this Alito fight. Let`s use this momentum and start really fighting back. All it takes is a little determination, an extended hand and the will to unify.

Thank you, DUers. I`m so proud of your efforts.

1. Agreed. You are all fantastic... yesterday I was heartbroken
but having people to commiserate with and work through it with was great. If it was only me, I would have felt so isolated and defeated. I never would have bothered continuing to call and fax.

Thank you all so much - even if we lose - it felt good to fight and have our leaders fight for us.

3. It's kind of like the momentum from the election '04...
Yes, it was horrible and heartbreaking. So many worked so hard to make things happen, to ensure * would not get in. To have anything else occur was a huge slap in the face to so many. But the swelling of grassroots movement that came together to fight was inspiring. Still is.

It's that same spirit that has really done some amazing work the last couple of years and brought about REAL CHANGE! Be proud of that, and inspired.

It's not over yet.. Let's just keep working, and believing anything is possible. :patriot:
