non-election related. Why no hedonist party?
I love the idea of this:

The basic idea behind hedonistic thought is that all actions can be measured on the basis of how much pleasure and how little pain they produce. In very simple terms, a hedonist strives to maximize this 'ratio' (pleasure over pain). The nineteenth-century British philosophers John Stuart Mill and Jeremy Bentham established the fundamental principles of hedonism through their ethical theory of Utilitarianism. Utilitarian value stands as a precursor to hedonistic values in that all action should be directed toward achieving the greatest amount of happiness for the greatest number of people.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedonism

the greatest pleasure for the greatest number of people (or non-human beings capable of experiencing pain).

could you imagine a world where happiness was the ultimate goal?

mods, if this belongs in another forum, please move accordingly.

7. All the hedonist party would
have to do would be to lace america french fries with opium and they would single handedly ripe out the need for health care, social security, education and mass transportation. Think of it a whole nation whacked out on wowy sauce...it's beautiful.

8. no - ill health is not happiness
however, fries and some wowy sauce, I'm sure, would have a place, but so would healthcare.

I see it more as an alternative to war and fear and hunger and stupid "values" that cause us to tear at each other...
