4. (Them): A Pug in the Whitehouse in '08.
$20-30 trillion in transferred wealth.
States becoming corporations.

10. Your pockets will be empty, your kid's pockets will be empty (if you
have kids) their pockets will be empty, there will be nothing but rubble in Iraq and dead bodies, Iran will be sucked in and oil will be $10.00 per gallon. That is what their victory looks like.

2. I just say that I want what's best for America, and being in Iraq where
our mere presence is making terrorism worse is NOT in the best interest of America. I don't care if we win. That's only important for macho egos.

3. Response: Why Did YOU Want to LOSE in Iraq?
They kept backing an-obviously-failing policy - they either wanted to lose, or were really stupid.

6. They've already declared victory about a hundred times.
Pulling down the statue meant we won. Mission Accomplished meant we won. The purple fingers. Etcetera. How will we know we've won when they keep saying we've won when we haven't.

8. It's the same as asking: Have you stopped beating your wife?
There is no way to answer that question that doesn't make you look bad. It is a rhetorical question. The problem is that the press and the public attention span doesn't allow for that kind of response. Anything longer than a 5 second sound bite gets filtered out. They don't do nuance.

You're right, no one has defined what "Win in Iraq" means. The BushCo seemed to have thought at one time that they could make Baghdad look like Omaha, or something. OOPS.

11. I don't want the U.S. to "win" -- I want the Iraqi people to win
Funny you posted this, I had been thinking before I logged on if I were asked this question, how would I answer. This country belongs to the people of Iraq and the only definition of what constitutes a win should come from their dictionary, not ours.

I was against this war from the start, I didn't believe from the onset there were weapons of mass destruction. I cringe to think what has been done there in my name, as one of the American people. The best I can hope for is that when it finally ends, the good people of Iraq will have whatever they consider to be an improved way of life.

13. We lost it when we went into Iraq
So true, so sad. It was unwinnable from the get go, Iraq would fall to a Theocracy Rule of brutality. If I, a housewife in Michigan could see this 2002, how could our leaders not?

14. There is no winning, all we can do define the magnitude of our loss.
Edited on Wed Nov-01-06 10:43 PM by Old and In the Way
The longer it takes for this to be understood, the larger our loss.

15. I too struggled for a response
and determined dripping sarcasm is the only out I have....

We will have won when the Iraqi people recognize the sacred gift of democracy given to them by the divinely guided leader of the free world, our beloved Shrubster. Shortly thereafter, the surrounding evil nations will turn to goodness as well. When the entire world recognizes benevolent magnificence of the US, the WIN is complete. Until then, stay the course.

chance to win it than these asshat clowns have for "winning" in Iraq.

21. It doesn't matter what their definition of "win" is
They'll come up with all kinds of rosy scenarios to define a win. The rebuttal question is "Yes, but what will it cost us in lives, dollars, reputation, morale, etc. etc.?"
