3. I don't know, that was one of the most confusing versions of "The Word"...
...he's ever done. I'm going to have to watch the re-run to figure out what he was actually talking about.

Hey Comedy Central, the "MOTHERLOAD" Player Sucks!

5. Supposedly for Copyright Infringement, but he said something about...
...getting them on your Video iPod (which they charge for), so I don't really know.

All I know is that more go up almost as fast as they are taken down.

12. iTunes Store Videos Play On Any Computer with iTunes
You don't need a video iPod to view a video from the iTunes Music Store; they'll play on anything that has iTunes on it. Viacom is cracking down on *all* their material on YouTube, not just Colbert.

15. Are you sure, that's not what he said on his show...
...but then, taking anything he says on his show seriously is kind of stupid.

Besides, that takes all the fun out of it. Sharing your favortite videos on YouTube was half the fun.

Oh well.:evilfrown:

16. Very Sure - Because I've Done It!
I don't have a video iPod but I've bought episodes from the iTunes store and they play fine on my computer. iTunes is built for it; there's a nifty new 'view' for one's video library.

I know about Viacom cracking hard because of another show I (used to) watch episodes of on YouTube.

18. Oops, you just contradicted yourself...
...you said you "...bought episodes from the iTunes store..." like I said, they are removing them so that you have to pay for them at iTunes!

In other words, the majority of us who HAVE already paid to see the show, by paying for over priced Cable T.V. and having to watch about a dozen "Girls Gone Wild" commercials, have to pay AGAIN for the show if we happened to miss it, or one of the 14 re-runs of the show or just want to see an old favorite, because a few people "refuse to pay for T.V." are seeing low resolution clips of old shows without seeing the ads at Comedy Central .com. Yeah, that's a GREAT deal! :eyes:

I'm sure that will win lots of new fans and viewers and bring a new found respect for Mega-Corporations.

19. No Contradiction; Perhaps You Misread Me (Or The Other Way Around)
I thought I was answering if iTunes videos played on computers or only on video iPods; I was responding that they play on either. I was also repsonding that Viacom is pulling copyrighted content from YouTube - not just Colbert, but other shows, and I knew that because another show that I watched on YouTube (not Colbert) is being yanked as well. Additionally, the copyright violations is a hot topic on the forum for that show (again, not Colbert, but another show).

Yes, I've bought episodes from iTunes - which don't have commercials - and they are high resolution. I personally LIKE Apple Computer quite a bit, and do a lot of business with them.

21. No, it was definitely you who misread, or overlooked the...
...words inside of parenthesis marks in my post that you responded to.

Just admit you were wrong or made a mistake when you make a mistake. Going all, "I'm an arrogant prick who makes money with my iMac..." is just ugly. But I guess you learned to be like that from those lame Mac/PC John Hodgman T.V. Commercials, which are just as distorted a view of the current generation PC as most Mac users have of themselves.

Sure, Photoshop started on the Mac and was faster on the Mac when it first was introduced for the PC, but since version 5, Photoshop runs great on the PC. Plus for Video Editing, the Mac is only now stating to catch up to the PC, but are still not used by most professionals, and Sun Microsystems SPARC workstations have long been be better than Macs for a lot of applications.

Seriously, you "I make money with my Mac..." people really need to get over yourselves.

22. Calm down; REP wasn't wrong, nor did they make a mistake
They just said (a) the clips are on iTunes, which means they can be played on a computer as well as a video iPod (which might not have been clear from your earlier post); (b) Viacom are pulling more than just the Colbert shows from YouTube.

They never said they 'made money with their Mac'; they said they 'did business with Apple' - which can just mean buying stuff from them. Why you've developed that into a rant about Mac users, I can't tell. Neither did they ever deny that the clips now cost money (they referred to the iTunes 'store' in their first post) - so I can't see why you think they contradicted themselves.

The remark 'Going all, "I'm an arrogant prick ...' is beneath you. It really is an insult of REP. Will you reconsider it?

8. Yep! The guy is 25 and Steven asked why he isn't fighting in Iraq!!!!
The "child" then said he intending to serve by running for Congress. Steven should have asked him if he'd fight in Iraq if he loses! :)

9. YouTube has officially gone to s__t!
I have about 4 favorite clips on YouTube that I look at on regular basis. No matter how many times I see them they still cheer me up, make me laugh, or inspire me to practice my guitar. Three of them are Daily Show clips and the fourth is Stevie Ray Vaughn doing his live cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Voo Doo Child", AWESOME!!
My favorite Daily Show clip was when Steven Colbert was still on the show. Some of you may remember it, the one with Steve Colbert and the banana. It was still on there last night. Not an hour ago when I tried to give it a view, that infamous red lettering saying "This Clip has been removed due to copyright infringement.".
Sigh!!
Let's all write letters to Viacom and tell Redstone to stick it! I mean what else can you do? Nothin!

13. Well, we could boycott YouTube...
...except that we just got a YouTube only video forum, something I'm not to happy about because, I've found that clip, and a lot of others that I didn't find at YouTube on other "flash player" type sites, but we can't post them there.

Here's the clip from another source: <http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=927496434>

Lots of other good ones there too, just search Daily Show in the Users video section: <http://vidsearch.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.fullsearch&TotalRecords=373>

I'm not sure it that search link will work, but it should get you into the right area.

20. Just re-watched "The Word" it still sucked. I wonder how long a...
...Colbert/Viacom/Google Haters Club Channel would last on YouTube?

But yet, he did REALLY nail that 25 year old Republican douche-bag just now, so how can I stay mad.
