Religion in US vs Canada hotels
Here is what I found in one of my drawers at a Hyatt in Canada:

In the US I only get the book on the right. Why?

in Marriot hotels (a chain I happen to like overall)

Once on a business trip I had a bad cold and was feeling too miserable to get out of bed, so I actually read the Gideon Bible since it was the only thing at hand. There's a lot of weird stuff in it.

ETA: I've never seen religious stuff in hotel rooms abroad.

5. There are groups that pass out the Gideons Bible for free in the US
Apparently there is a Buddhist group that is similar in Canada! I think groups of many types ought to pass out free books to hotel rooms; I'd make sure there's a copy of Tiptree's Ten Thousand Light-Years From Home in every Super 8 room in the country, if I could.

6. Yet you have to pay Ten Bucks for the in-room porn.
Where's the fairness in that?
