Kudos to Olbermann
In what was overall not a very good day for us it was nice to see it end on a high note. I'm glad to see someone actually take on people like McCain and Laura who usually get away with their bullshit.

I was so pissed off when watching the news today. That bastard Lou Dobbs never bothered to explain what Kerry really meant with his comments and, like every other media asshole out there, tried to fool his viewers into thinking he had insulted the troops. It seems like Keith is the lone voice of sanity in this bizarro world that has existed ever since 9/11.

Once again, I applaud him. And I hope the history books record his contributions as the beginning of the end for this group of thugs.

1. I Wish That NBC would...
Give KO a weekly (or nightly) commentary spot on the NBC Nightly News.

2. If there's any justice left
After these assholes get their butts handed to them next week, Keith will be viewed as this generation's Edward R. Murrow. When you stop and consider what happens to reporters who have any kind of independence about their reporting, his stance and editorials are not only phenomenal, he's got to be the bravest newscaster out there. The rest of those "summer soldiers and sunshine patriots" can all go to hell.

3. Is he sort of our Walter Cronkite
for our generation and this war? Just something that popped into my head today.

4. Maybe a combination of Cronkite and Murrow.
Whatever else he is, KO is fabulous!

6. This new camera angle they've started cutting to during the comments...
...reminds me particularly of Murrow on "See it Now."

7. It's his delivery, too.
He's watched the old recordings. He knows exactly what he's doing, and he does it very well.

The thing that amazes me is knowing that Murrow devoted only about three shows to his attacks on Joe McCarthy, and not all of them ended with powerful editorials like the one everyone remembers (quoting the Shakespeare: "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves"). Keith has already far surpassed Murrow himself in his output of eloquent, Murrowesque editorials on the current sad state of the nation.

5. I'm worried...
Why would the complete speech (which exonerates Kerry) be scrubbed from the Internet?
Why would only the "out of context" snippet pepper the Internet?
Why would the complete speech not even be available on Kerry's Website?
Why would the lie propagate and the truth vanish?
Where is the sound of silence coming from?

And why is the sound of silence in stereo...

Anyone know where the transcripts / video of the complete speech is?
