In January, in an interview with Howard Dean, she accused Democrats of taking money from Abramoff. Dean flatly denied it, and Couric, in typical "I got caught" fashion, said something to the effect, "We'll have to look into it and get back to our viewers."

Sort of like when Ann Coulter got caught on CBC TV saying Canada sent troops into Vietnam; another flat-out lie. After insisting it was true several times and being told it wasn't by a CBC reporter several times, she finally gave up and said, "I'll have to check into that and get back to you." Apparently the CBC wasn't ready to roll over for her like the American media.
