I don't like electronic voting machines any more than you do. There is certainly the potential for fraud, but there is no guarantee of fraud in any specific election.

It is the sad reality of the insecurity of our elections. Because it is possible on a large scale it will happen on a large scale. Many races will not turn a certain way due to fraud and prevent many candidates from rightfully winning because of fraud. Hopefully though, despite this, the Democrats can win back Congress and our man Conyers and can start making quick changes.

I'm convinced that here in my district Bob Beauprez prevailed over Feeley by very few votes, that it was because of the e-voting machines. Feeley was quite popular but BB "won". That was back in 2000. Those days seem like the infancy of election fraud by e-voting. Now I look back and say - uh-huh.

Since then, in Colorado, we've worked hard to get a Dem majority in our state house despite a Republican governor. We got it and they passed mandatory paper trails. The gov got it delayed from this election to '08. But we got a good law passed.

Now, in this election, we're working hard to keep our Dem majority and it looks like we'll have a Dem governor.

This has been an uphill fight. Skirmish by skirmish and battle by battle we've fought for just elections. We'll have to be vigilant to keep it. But I'm ready to lend my support to another state that needs help.

Remember, it took the Republicans decades to regain power. We've made good use of the internet and our push is making very good strides.

Never give up. That's what you have to do. Decide that we'll never give up and then do your part.

Hardly anyone showed up, despite all the online outrage, people are always waiting for someone else to get the ball rolling. They don't seem to realize that we can't wait for some perfect leader to show up and guide us, we have to be the leaders. If everyone who says they won't go (because there won't be enough people to make a difference) would actually show up, well, there'd be enough freaking people to make a difference.. But sadly, I expect no difference this time around, or in 2008, or ever.
