Sometimes we have the urge to ignore uncomfortable facts, rather than to discuss them or to resolve them or to come to some rational understanding. Instead, we would rather tell people to shut up and talk about something else, as if we ignore it, it will disappear. We see that urge to suppress on DU with several folks at this time. They say it's just beating a dead dog. Let it go. Move on. Forget about it. Which side are you on?

1. I think people should be able to say what they like. |

So many problems in the world are caused by lack of communication that it's pathetic. I may not like what someone says, but then I have the option to ignore it too. Posts, threads and comments I find no value in commenting on, I simply pass up.
