Research: Democrats Typically Drink Sprite
A new process of targeting voters based on the consumer choices that they make is giving political strategists new ways to target voters, according to "Good Morning America."

The information, which will help determine if a person is either a Republican or Democrat, is called micro-targeting.

* Dr. Pepper -- Republican

* Sprite -- Democrat

* Pro Wrestling -- Democrat

* Monster Trucks -- Republican

* Wal-Mart Shoppers -- Republican

* Coors -- Republican

* U.S. Open -- Democrat

* College Football -- Republican

* Audi -- Republican

* Saab -- Democrat

* Organic food shopper -- White Democratic

* TV Guide -- Democrat

* U.S. News and World Report -- Republican

The report indicated that political affiliation is learned by a compilation of consumer habits and not just one shopping preference.

It is also likely that this type of research will be used for the 2008 election.

1. They have to be wrong on the "Wrestling".
That's a pure Republican reactionary sport. And Sprite sucks--no caffeine.

6. I'm guessing it's not a joke, but aimed at giving Walmart shoppers
an identity inside the Republican party.

And everyone KNOWS that Democrats drink bottled water or Diet Cream Soda.

13. Nope,
The difference is a Dem can see it for what it is and appreciate the art. A repub just thinks it's real.

But they watch it and know it's fake. Republicans are still convinced it's real.

Okay, I did USED to watch pro wrestling. But only because I like tall, big men (i.e. The Rock). I stopped watching years ago though.

* Dr. Pepper -- Republican (I LIKE Dr Pepper, hate sprite - oh oh!!)

* Sprite -- Democrat (as I said))

* Pro Wrestling -- Democrat (HATE it...oh boy...)

* Monster Trucks -- Republican (OK - can't stand em...)

* Wal-Mart Shoppers -- Republican (OK - don't shop there)

* Coors -- Republican (OK - hate the stuff)

* U.S. Open -- Democrat (hmmm....whoops...don't care about it, particularly)

* College Football -- Republican (check - still a Pro fan)

* Audi -- Republican (whoops - used to have a VW passat....Audi in a VW shroud, guess i am OK)

* Saab -- Democrat (I only "Saab" when I have to listen to Bush! we are Toyota/Subaru types these days)

* Organic food shopper -- White Democratic (check)

* TV Guide -- Democrat (oh no - we don't really watch much TV...and would never read TV guide!)

* U.S. News and World Report -- Republican (I prefer Harpers, Progressive, etc - guess that is OK)

Yes, I heard about this microtargetting during an interview of the fellows who wrote the Applebees book. Perhaps there is something to it, but putting people in boxes is never too good a thing....

White Dem over 50....
Drink Tea or Coffee (free trade preferred)
Love college football Olympics
Dominoes Pizza does not cross these lips (ate it unknowingly on 2 occassions)
Whole Foods, Costco and farmer's market thank you,
More times than not, the TV stops on PBS no cable
Any car that I can pay for in cash (but prefer American)

I try to buy blue and support local when ever and where ever I can. I always check first. I refuse to let my buck get into their coffers.

Forgot to add I like to hunt, fish, etc. I go to Academy and could get lost for hours. OOPPS-and I was so close to perfection

29. I hope not...
I was joking with the poster in front of me. If I was preggers-it would be the biggest headline since Sara presented Abraham with a son. If it ever happened, I'd like a son 'cause I have a daughter. My hubby would like a rope-to hang himself. Hey, it's the price for being a stud muffin.

17. Just plain ridiculous
I can cite many examples within each category of where they are wrong.
TV Guide? Democrats? Puleeze.
Everyone knows that the fat assed Republicans don't EVER get out of their Lazeeboy. The TV Guide in one hand and the remote in the other.

This list is absured.

For example, everyone knows that Pepsi is a Republican front organization.

25. This is so bizarre,
I fit few of these categories. Let's see here:

Coke or filtered water
Don't watch "sports" involving vehicles or are faked
OK, I don't shop at WalMart
No, I don't drink piss, "brewed" by a Nazi loving family, trying to pass itself off as beer
I like to watch football, college or pro. I also like college basketball, pro hoops only if it is the playoffs and the Lakers are playing, and baseball if it involves the Cardinals(HOW ABOUT THOSE REDBIRDS!!!)
I own a Honda car, a Nissan truck, and a Bajaj scooter, which is what I really love to ride.
I don't shop for my organic food, I either go pick it out of my garden, pull it out of my pantry, or contact a farmer neighbor who raises organic livestock.
And I have neither TV Guide or USNWR in my house. However I do read National Geographic, Smithsonian, Mother Earth News, Small Farmer Today and Mother Jones.
I guess I'll just mess up their entire demographic premise, oh well.

27. The Almighty Consumer!
Took a Zogby Poll online tonite, which generally takes about 15 minutes. Tonite it took 3 minutes when I indicated that I will spend zero money shopping during the holidaze. (I'm an atheist - do not celebrate, I don't buy my family gifts, they don't buy gifts for me - took many, many years for them to understand my point of view.)

For the record, I'm a registered Dem, hate Sprite, prefer 7-UP (less sweet) and love Dr. Pepper.
