There WILL be an IRAN invasion and DRAFT after Nov 8... |
|
.. the only question will be WHEN.
If we retake the House/Senate, then it will be within days. Chicken George will use his rubber stamp congress to have another full scale war started and the conscription of hundreds of thousands of pieces of cannon fodder that will be shoved thru training as fast as possible (very poor training, no equipment) so that by the time the Dems take over, we will be so deep in the quicksand that trying to get out will take all of our attention, and the finger-pointing of 'cut and run' will go on the next two years...
If the elections are stolen, then give it a coupla of months, the DRAFT will come in Feburary, ostentatiously to 'give relief to the troops in Iraq'.. but then by mid year, IRAN will be the new source of Chicken George's attention, and it will come... setting them up for two years of 'cut and run' democrats leading into the '08 season...
Be strong, be aware, but it's coming.

2. If we invade Iran, then North Korea will probably invade South Korea. |
|
They'll know we're not going to be equipped to stop them.
I don't think it will start as a full-scale invasion.
I think it will start as a small-scale incursion intended to seize food, and will then spiral out of control.

4. Kim Jong Il is plenty crazy, all right . . . |
|
But he has to know that Boy George would nuke his ass if he tried that, especially if he devastates Seoul first (which is what he'd have to do).
Of course, Kim'd have all those surviving US troops as hostages. Hmmm . . .

16. If he was planning on occupying territory, he'd need to take Seoul |
|
But, I bet he could come up with a good plan for making a limited incursion near the coast... possibly assisted by an amphibious assault, for the purpose of temporarily seizing territory and then high-tailing it out of there with loads of food.
Does anyone remember someone else making a massive, surprise coastal assault along the Korean Peninsula?
Another possibility is that he'll start seizing fishing and commercial vessels for food and material.

18. Where other than Seoul is there a conveniently compact . . . |

store of loads of food, ready for siezure and removal under active combat conditions? Might be pretty tough to carry off.

3. Maybe if they succeed in stealing this one . . . |
|
In a few months. But probably not. And not if they lose the house. Just not possible to put such a thing together during the rump session, and frankly the country (and 'Lican politicians who want to ever be elected again) won't stand for it.
The ground has changed; the gullible aren't anymore; the biddable won't be; the spineless are standing upright.
Not being overly optimistic here -- it's just a logistical/political impossibility, IMO.

you think KKKarl dosen't have it all set and ready? A made up 'incident' and Chicken George waves a pen and the DRAFT is on.. they will drain the troops from the rest of the world to go start the apocalypse with IRAN and then the cannon fodder comes in.
Don't delude yourself... it's ready to roll if they lose.

14. I don't buy it. The political environment is so highly charged . . . |
|
That Taliban armies could make a massive ground assault on the White House and it'd take 6 months to respond. Rove is not a wizard, just a very effective apparatchik who, incidentally, doesnt' really know jack about military mobilization.
Which is not to say that the amount of mischief Schimpanski and Karl can get up to in 2 years couldn't be really disastrous, but that your particular scenario seems impracticable.

19. They've had MONTHS to plan this... |
|
If you don't see that these vile bastards practice a 'scorched earth' policy, you haven't been paying attention... if they can't loot at their pace over the next two years, then they'll have a grand 'going out of democracy' bash and steal as fast as they can and leave a burned out hust for the Dem's to deal with... and spend the next two years blaming them for it to try to get back '08...

I believe there will be an attack on Iran and the consequences will be so severe, that disengagement will be impossible. Thereafter the new dominant posture of the defense industry, the secret government, the police state, will be permanently established and there will be no ability to restore the status quo before the bushite/neocon assault on the Constitution and our traditional institutions as they existed before Patriot Act, Homeland Security, Intelligence "reform," Snooping and surveillance legislation, Military Commissions Act, and the nationalization of the state national guards.
The catastrophic damage to the world economy will be blamed on Iran instead on the American corporate elites where it squarely belongs.

Folks, we've been hearing this time and time again since 2003. It reached its last major peak around the 2004 election, with people issuing their hardened-fast no-doubt guarantees that if Bush won, we'd invade Iran and have a draft no later than mid-2005. If it wasn't true then, or in any of the other times when it's come up, why should it be true now?
