Force Frist to go nuclear |
|
From a strategic angle, the Dems must filibuster. As things stand now, the Republicans hold the threat of the "nuclear option" as a way of avoiding a filibuster. The Dems have repeatedly backed down. The problem is that they have essentially removed it from our arsenal, but there is nothing stopping the Republicans from using a filibuster in the future. If the Democrats have conceded the use of the filibuster for judicial nominees, then they should force the Republicans to take it off the table for all future nominees, Democratic or Republican.

Frist will take the bait...and his actions (aside from his impending indictment troubles) will help the continued buckling and collapse of the Repugs in 2006 races.
Bring it, Fristy...

What good is it to have the filibuster as an option if you can't use it? To hell with them! They should do just what you said. Filibuster and make them "go nuclear". They'll feel the consequences of their actions too, someday.
