Senator John Kerry is working to filibuster the nomination of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court, and Senator Edward Kennedy is supporting him:

The other thing we'll need to do is support Senators Kerry and Kennedy today, over the weekend, Monday, and as long as it takes after that to help Americans understand why a filibuster of the Samuel Alito nomination is necessary. The corporate media will do everything it can to help the Republicans diminish and denigrate this effort.

Anyone who notices corporate media folks spouting Republican talking points, let me know immediately at [e-mail]. I'll send the information to my list of more than 600 progressive activists, bloggers, radio talk show hosts, writers, and strategists, asking them to get their readers and listeners involved in calling and sending emails or faxes to any and all corporate media people who try to help the Republicans stop this filibuster.

We'll need your participation, as well. I told Senator Kerry's office that we will get his back. If we don't, we're headed further down the road toward complete loss of our civil liberties.
