2. By saying, "I can not answer that question because

the issue may arise in a future case brought before the court". They can use that excuse about everything because any issue has the potential to come before the court. The hearings do not help at all. They are a bunch of crap and should be eliminated. Lets just do a background check on all candidates and let the Senate decide to give a vote or filibuster the nomination. Better yet, change the law so that the American people get to vote on candidates. Since approximately 70% of people do not want abortion outlawed, the candidate who appears to be poised to eliminate Roe v. Wade would not be elected.
