Tonight I got some good news;
At a community event, I was sitting at the Democratic tent, where we had some literature to hand out.
I saw several old friends, some who were republicans.

One of them, pointing to the Jim Davis for Governor sign, told me - I voted for him, and I'll tell you - he's going to get a lot of "closet" votes.

I am wondering how many "good republicans" out there, are too ashamed to admit that they are going to vote Dem to their friends, - only to vote their conscience once they are in the booth.

That is what happened to Dems in the south before, known as the "dixiecrat" phenomenon - has it been reversed?!

I feel much better about Davis' chances now. We are going to make history here in Florida, and elect the first African-American as Lieutenant Governor.

2. One of my wife's friends from our church
who her and her husband are lifelong republicans admitted that they are both voting a straight Democratic ticket on Thursday. This is why I don't expect the elections to really happen as there is just too much of this going on around the country and Bush and Company are just not going to relinquish control of the government that easily.

3. We have a good friend like that
He voted for Bush but now we can feel that he is so embarrassed. He suddenly started taking about that we need national health care and that we have to take better care of the environment.

He won't admit it, but I know that he'll vote for democrats. He has friends who are blind Bush supporters, and he doesn't want to "come out" as a Democrat (yet).

5. My state too
I've heard of a few who are voting for our Dem governor and he isn't even very popular. I wonder if it's possible that people just aren't buying what the Repubs are selling anymore. That would be awesome!!

7. Down In the Polls... But I've Heard Some Of The Same Stuff...
I'll be at a Rally on Sunday here in Sarasota. Jim Davis & Senator Bob Graham will here and I'm looking forward to it. The fact that he's coming to THIS county says a LOT!

This is Cruella's District and I can't wait to be rid of her! Plus, I'm phone banking for Jennings tomorrow and she's still ahead of Buchanan which is another weird one! If even half of our cards fall our way, I think I'll finally be able to have that special "golden margarita" that I've been saving since 2000! Never opened the liqueur that I bought for Gore's Presidency!!

I haven't understood how Crist could still be ahead when so many newspapers have endorsed Davis! This is one I want real bad too!!!

Voted absentee, but we've had problems with them in the past, but we don't have paper ballots here and it was one or the other! We DID get a referendum to vote for paper ballots... that would be nice, but Kathy Dent is another Cruella, if not worse!

8. One More Thing... A Candidate That Ran In A Repuke Primary Here
told me personally that he was voting for the man he "would have" run against had he won his primary. Told me personally that he's voting Democratic but "they" were keeping it low key!

Don't know how many "they" were, but it was a surprise!

14. That's good news
What are the numbers like for Bell? Is Strayhorn a serious challenger?

And, more importantly, is Kinky out of the picture?

15. Everybody up near me can quote that "empty chair" commercial...
it is very effective...

Davis has barely advertised here at all...

I don't think it will be close on this one...
