My underdog candidate is going to win a seat that is not in play.
I am talking about Bryan Kennedy (WI-5) who is running for a second time against Sensenbrenner. Somewhere long ago somebody decided that this seat was not in play because Kennedy lost to Sensenbrenner 67-33 in 2004. People have taken this as the only poll that's needed on this race. No outside polls have been done, none!

The Kennedy campaign found that they were only 8 points behind (41-49) prior to Labor Day. Sensenbrenner's own polls found that his approval rating is under 50%, which is bad news for an incumbent. Sensenbrenner is probably polling (since he can afford it) and if the news were good he would no doubt make it public. He turned down all opportunities to debate Kennedy except for two and in both of those the audience heavily favored Bryan. Last weekend the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel endorsed Bryan Kennedy, and that is huge. Meanwhile Sensenbrenner has been out there campaigning for other candidates, acting like he doesn't need to bother.

I know the incumbent wins 90% of the time, but since he has been re-elected 13 times, I think his number is up. Most of Sensenbrenner's press is bad- I think people in the district are finally aware that the whole country hates their congressman. And the thing is, powerful though he may be, if you do nothing for your own district, eventually people will get sick of you and vote for someone else. If you identify yourself with a President nobody trusts, eventually they won't trust you either.

Bryan Kennedy is a terrific candidate and has run a great campaign. There is a Republican majority in the district, and he needs Republican votes as well as a good turnout from the Democrats. The people who know what Bryan is like think the world of him, and word spreads. Its kind of funny to me that no one is keeping an eye on this race... the pundits conceded it a long time ago.

His message is simple: http://www.bk2006.org/video.html

And thats ok with me. Kennedy can't afford ad media battles with Sensenbrenner. Until late Tuesday night the world can still believe that this seat is not in play. A lot of people will be surprised, but not me. :hi:

1. Good luck
I'd love to see Herr Sensenbrenner be marched out of town and back to the bundestag where he belongs.

4. Not just that race
TN-3: Underfunded, unknown candidate campaigning under the radar recently polled 41% against sitting incumbent Zach "fried my brain on cocaine" Wamp in a Chattanooga-area poll. Wamp won his 2004 re-election by a 2-1 margin.

I predict in addition to winning most of the 35-40 hotly contested seats we're going to pick up several seats that weren't even on anybody's radar screen. Part of the fun will be trying to guess which seats those will be, since there are hundreds of possibilities. I give WI-5 and TN-3 an outside chance of being Dem pickups.

5. I feel the same way in CA45
My candidate David Roth is finally running some of the best ads I've seen to date, in what has been seen as a safe seat for Mary Bono (R-bimbo). There are no polls except an old one with the same numbersyou have. This year however she has spent close to $1M on tv ads, when she never hadto run ads before. David, short on cash, in spite of qualifying for DNC monsy last week,is spending the last week, touring the entire district(huge) from Moreno Valley to Blythe in a motor coach; something "Bonehead" would never do. This common touch may be the key. This district has changed a lot in the last 2 years and we have lotsof pissed off Latinos ready to kick her skanky ass to the curb. Wish us luck.

6. Reminds me of Illinois 14
No one thinks John Laesch has a prayer against Denny Hastert. We may not win but we will be closer than anyone imagined.

Well, until Denny started helping out
it didn't look good. Wonderful of that pig to reveal his true character in October! After Sensenbrenner, I despise Denny Hastert second most.

11. Its been frustrating all along
that they didn't take our candidate seriously, but we all worked as hard as we could anyway. And God knows, the Repukes have helped. Especially Sensenbrenner and Hastert!

12. Nice to hear! I hope SenslessBurner wakes up unemployed Wed. Morning!
As you say, he's been re-elected 13 times and his approval is under 50%?
That's not a good sign for him!

Time for a change!
