If I was there and he said that b.s. about the republicans being the one's who did all the budget work I would ask him why almost a whole six years later have they not controlled the budget? If Bush vetoed anything if they tried to control spending they could over-ride that veto since they're the majority. They don't give a tinkers damn about the budget. A US History professor of mine last term in college made that suggestion and I thought about that and that is the question that popped up in my head. Of course a lot of rightwingers blame 9/11 but you can only do that for maybe two years tops and it's been pretty much five years later.

I remember him saying that Pelosi and Emanuel had this info and were responsible for releasing it as a political move. He said something like, "Nancy Pelosi and Rham Emanuel should be given a chance to explain themselves and tell us what they knew when."

is one of the better Republicans we have here in Georgia. Of course, that's damning with faint praise. Afterall, we have Lynn Westmoreland, the Rep. who wants the Ten Commandments displayed in federal buildings, but, when pressed, could only name 3 of the Ten. Or Phil Gingrey. (hope you didn't miss his rendition of Prissy from "Gone With the Wind" on The Colbert Report). Actually, just about every Republican we have is worse than Kingston. We're in pain, here.

Here in Georgia. And I'm telling you, as far as our Republican politicians go, Kingston is the smart one. You wouldn't believe the Republicans we have here. They're unbelievable. The religious right and their racist brethren have ushered in the worst kind of conservative fundamentalists. Maybe. Just maybe, we'll have a few less here on Wednesday. Wish us luck.

she LIED her ass off!
she completely ignored what he said about Bush before he made the remark about getting us stuck in Iraq....totally mischaracterized his words. she also mentioned the DEMOCRAT party. she really revealed herself for what she is tonight....she let slip her clear RW agenda, which she's much more careful about when she's on regular TV.
I actually SWORE loudly at the TV twice when she spewed her drivel...one was at the above snip; the other I can't remember. I haven't done that in awhile, but she elicited that from me tonight....now I'm mad again!

I thought she was full of shit too.
Another thing she said that pissed me off was the comment about Democrats missing an opportunity to address Bush's failures. It is my opinion that Democrats have been addressing Bush's bungles but the "liberal" media chooses to ignore them. As they choose to ignore Robert Greenwald's films and the recent HBO special about Diebold voting machines.

80. thank you! that was the other time I screamed at her. |
|
I couldn't believe she said that! what about the HEARINGS various dems have had, without subpoena power, which included generals, contractors, etc., that the media refused to cover, the other hearings that swine like her colleague Dana Milbank SNEERED at, because they were held in basements.
things like THAT, that the liberal media chose to cover only to make fun of.
now I'm getting even MADDER!

I missed a lot. Sounds like she may be a rw reporter, or at least biased to some degree. Sorry I missed her insanity.

89. Dems have been pointing out Bush's failures since 2002 - most media |
|
wouldn't report it, then they blame Dems for media's neglect to cover their statements pointing to Bush's failures.
Media sure knows how to do one thing really well - point the blame AWAY from themselves for not doing THEIR JOB.

86. No, I tuned in late... |

so I missed most of what she said. I based my comment on the last 15mins. of the show.
Thanks for giving me a fuller representation of her remarks. I appreciate it! :hi:

88. She BLAMED Kerry that it was a news story - typical RW ploy. |
|
Kerry told that joke so many times before, and the media KNEW it - they even get prepared remarks that prove it - That woman LIED that Kerry let it go unexplained for two news cycles - he answered with the TRUTH right away and they stayed with Bush's lie.
What a great reporter she is, eh?

91. She was a real piece of shit. What does she know? |
|
She lied about how long it was in the news cycle without Kerry responding and that it took him to long to get out the proper wording. That is all bullshit. He responded right away and so did his office. The media chose to ignore it all and run with the Rove lies. And she is wrong, Kerry is far from over.

90. Maher was good, he defended Kerry and made sense out of |
|
this stupid distraction. The other guests can go to hell. Kerry is far from done. That is wishful thinking on the part of the repub and that Hill reporter. And, Alex Bauldwin can go to hell for backing up and applauding Hillary's backstabbing of Kerry. Franky, Hillary is toast if Baldwin is backing her.

92. We went to the taping and after the show... |
|
Bill gave that moron GOP guy a chance to rebutt the laundry list about GWB that earned him the "retarded child emperor" title in the rant....well it was the most pathetic thing, he couldn't even do it. Bill goes, "well I'm sure it was hard for you sitting there listening to that, so I want to give you some time with the audience if you want to rebutt anything I said." The guy was like "well, um, I'm had no idea you felt that way about my party and um, the President, gosh, I'm just sorry you feel that way..." NUTHIN!!! NUTHIN!! GUY HAD NUTHIN! It was so weird too cuz the audience which as you heard was pretty vocal (including ME) was like, "awwww..." not even booing just a mass "you poor idiot bastard" murmur...strange! I did think it was one of the best shows and Alec Baldwin stuck around to talk a bit with the audience afterwards and he seems very sincere and down to earth.
I was pleasantly impressed with Roseanne Barr on the remote, who I had always thought of as unbearably shrill in the past, now I'd love to see her back as a panelist.

97. If you are ever in El Lay during Bill's taping give a holler! |
|
It's real easy -- you just call them on the Monday before, they call you back and tell you to call on Wed to confirm. The only thing is you have to wait an hour and a half before hand but it's not too painful.
You get there at 6:30 and they park you on the benches outside studio 33 until 7:00, then they move you inside to the comfy seats and they have good audicen music (including my fave, John Lennon "Istant Karma")and it's kinda fun to watch them check the plexi remote thingee before the show and all that...
At 7:45 they show a warm up "best of" reel and the producer comes out to do a warm up jokes and stuff, he's a pretty funny guy. Since the show itself is live, they never stop tape like sitcoms do (seeing a half hour sitcom can take 2 hours with all the retakes and it's BORING!)
Really recommended best of L.A. activity IMO, and FREE doesn't hurt either! Then you can go home & try to find yourself in the audience at the latenight rerun!
