DEAR SENATORS: "WHAT WOULD THE GOP DO?" |
|
If the situation was reversed, what do you think the GOP would do? YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT THEY WOULD FILIBUSTER. If you don't Filibuster this guy, you WILL NEVER TAKE BACK AMERICA. Period. You will show America that you don't like Alito but you don't have the fortitude to FIGHT FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN.
Do WHAT IS RIGHT: IF YOU ARE VOTING NO FOR ALITO, VOTE NOT FOR CLOTURE!

I'm talking about if a Senator votes NO for the nominee, the should filibuster if it's going to pass. The GOP *would* do this if their party opposed the nomination.
Clinton's nominees were filibuster proof. Different situation entirely.

6. They didn't even allow votes on 60 of Clinton's nominees... |
|
But they DID filibuster three of them.

Ginsberg got overwhelming support and she made no bones about her past or philosophy.

8. Doesn't apply here (as I posted above) |
|
Ginsberg was vetted with the ENTIRE Senate before being proposed.
If she wasn't and the republicans didn't have enough votes to stop her, you can be sure they would have filibustered.
I'm talking SPECFICALLY about the situation where the Republicans DON'T support a candidate, they will definitely use EVERYTHING THEY CAN to stop a nominee. In fact they have for lesser courts.
