Diebold starting to tout the stupid excuse. |
|
Are they throwing this out in anticipation of massive lawsuits and congressional investigations?
Unfortunately I didn't catch the source on C-SPAN, but I THINK it was the Washington Post.
In this article Diebold spokespeople were waxing alarmed about their lack of technical knowledge regarding how to run computerized elections, claiming they knew virtually nothing about computer technology when they developed this division of their company. They wish they had thought out the business better, or not gotten into it in the first place! Just too dumb to know any better.
Pulllleeeze, this is almost as lame an excuse as Haggard's, 'I only wanted a massage and to waste my money buying and throwing away methamphetamines'. :eyes:

1. That was my first thought. |

They've been exposed and now it's time to claim stupidity and alcoholism and check into rehab. It's not going to work. The malicious codes had to be typed by their malicious people!:grr: O'Dell, "I will deliver Ohio to George Bush." 'Nuff said.

an ATM would be infinitely more difficult to build and maintain than a voting machine. Yet they had no problem providing millions of ATMs around the country. But they JUST can't seem to get a handle on that voting machine thing. Darn! :eyes: Yeah, right. If as many ATMs failed as their voting machines they'd have been out of business years ago.

3. Are you serious? They are worried they don't know what they're doing?? |
|
Un-friggin-real. I'd like to see an investigation into this company's business dealings.

4. I heard that this morning... |

and my first thought was, what a load of horseshit. Robgeorgia and robcalifornia don't appear because you're too dumb to build a machine. I knew something was wrong from the first moment Bev said that downloading the code took 7 large storage disks. What does a tabulator need that much code for?

5. Win XP fits on one 'storage disk' |
|
And look at all the stuff it has built into it. Seven disks? How sloppy can that code be. I wonder how many disks it takes for one of their ATM machines?

Sloppier than Microsoft? That's quite a standard to meet.
