Is anyone still boycotting ABC and its subsidiaries because of the 9-11 movie? |

I am trying very hard to avoid ESPN but as college basketball season draws near the temptation to watch is strong.

I don't watch much tv and the few programs I watch are on the Sci Fi channel, not an ABC subsidiary, or the food channel, same story

9. My choices are a little different |

Edited on Sat Nov-04-06 12:40 PM by Warpy
although I think I'm in love with the crazy guy who combines metal and wood sculptures with wildly decorated cake and then blows them up. None of my faves is a Disney/ABC subsidiary.
It's not a boycott for me, it's just good taste.

15. I read that Emeril the Chef's a friend of Rush Limbaugh. |
|
So you might want to decide whether to watch him or not now that I told you this.

19. FIRST - I Find It Hard To Believe That A Man Who Has Dedicated |
|
Millions of his own money to rebuilding Louisiana, who has been big in children's charities for many years & makes a practice of highlighting minority chefs on his show (and diversity in his cuisine) would be a friend of Rush's. Where precisely did you read this? SECOND - Regardless of Chef Lagasse's friendships, the point of view he espouses is one of inclusion, diversity & respect for others. I've never been a fan of blaming someone for the company they keep - indeed, I myself was a close friend of a Reagan Republican - we disagreed about everything political but still found common ground on literature, food & movies. Scary as it may be, I think I might share one thing in common with Rush Limbaugh (based on the girth we both share) and that would be an appreciation of fine cuisine. This DOES NOT mean I find his politics, his habit of mocking other people, and his utter lack of common courtesy anything other than loathsome. And I doubt I could ever share a table with him - the man makes me want to vomit & this is rarely conducive to fine dining - nonetheless I would find it difficult to fault anyone who doesn't necessarily espouse his views for doing so in a social context.

I don't believe that he has that bent at all.

but I don't think their little neo-con masturbation theater really had any effect.

I watch Jeopardy on a local non ABC station by the way an hour earlier.
I watch NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. He's a Democrat by the way. He worked in the Carter administration.
As for any ABC programming I watch nothing as of now. I also have not watched CNN since December 2005.

http://mediamatters.org/items/200610310008They DID break the Foley scandal, but IMO, everything on that network has given me the creeps. Although I DO want to check out "LOST" on DVD...

I put a password on the cable box for KATU here in Portland, OR to keep from accidentally wathcing it. I haven't watched ABC since & don't feel I've missed anything. Same with CBS News since the arrival of her Perkiness, Katie Couric. Of course, there is nothing worth watching on any of the 3 major broadcast networks save an occaisional "60 Minutes" episode.
Of course, the statement recently from Mark Halperin(?) ABC news political director that they are trying to cozy up to the kool-ade drinkers just re-affirms my desire never to watch ABC (or Disney) again.
