Just back from canvassing...
in CT-05. First, let me just say that I'm pooped! Got the hilliest area in town, and walked nearly 5 miles. Most people weren't home, but had several folks enthusiastically expressing their desire to vote Dem this year. Ran into one couple, recent transplants from the south. Their views were decidedly red/right-wing. They were, however, willing to listen. Had a good dialogue and they were asking for more info about Dem positions. After sharing as much as I could ont he spot, gave them several resources to check out, and they seemed genuinely willing to learn more. Can't guarantee converts, but they seemed sincere in their promise to consider Dems this time around. All in all, a good day.

4. Sure did...
It was a really well-done glossy with a goofy pic of GWB and a "Time for Change" message. Also left specific lit on the congressional candidate and the state rep candidate for the district.

11. You're welcome! And you'd be thrilled to see how many
volunteers there were at Dem HQ! All of them heading out throughout the district. :)

3. I worked NY26 this week...
and ran into the same spirit to vote Democratic this year. At LEAST half a dozen former-GOP members enthusiastically supporting Democratic candidates in 2006.

Good luck in CT, thanks for your hard work!

Have a drink, on me! :toast:

10. This is exactly what everyone should be doing this weekend.
I was earlier today and will be again tomorrow. Bitching online and voting are not enough. People need to get out of their house and go door to door for a good candidate this weekend and on election day.

12. I was joined by at least 40 others in our Dem HQ
office alone. My canvassing partner was 70, and we had people in their teens to middle aged like me to seniors. It was great!
