Clint Eastwood is now calling voters to support Bruce McPherson!
Edited on Sat Nov-04-06 06:29 PM by calipendence
I've always been a Clint fan, even if he's been middle of the road on political issues. But he's crossed the line when his voicemail called and asked that I vote for McPherson instead of Debra Bowen!

Damn! I'm going to have to mothball my "Hog's Breath Inn" t-shirt and not go back there again!

If Bowen gets elected, perhaps I won't get other tools like Mikel Haas giving me this "I Voted" sticker when turning in my ABSENTEE BALLOT!

1. Shame on clint eastwood.
I thought he'd grown up considering the tone of his most recent films.

2. Clint certainly "made my day" . . .
though unfortunately for him, I'd already "made my mind up" to vote Bowen -- had already voted, in fact.

Maybe next time, Clint, when you make another 11th hour appeal, you'll side with a politician with a lot more appeal than McPherson.

fellow Connecticutans(?) to vote for Ned Lamont.

I read an article on eastwood in Entertainment Weekly where his political views are way different than the bushits on Iraq. So why does he want Californians to vote for bruce McPherson(sp)?

they can- reagun, schwarzenidiot, heaton, cavezial, heston and eastwood.

Funny, that.

9. Vote for McDiebold?! Ye gods! F. Scot Fitzgerald was right when he said,
"The rich are different from you and me."

They just don't get it. Or worse, maybe they do. Does Clint know what he's recommending here? He's no dummy. He's recommending RIGGED ELECTIONS, controlled by Bushite corporations with very close ties to the Bush Junta and far rightwing causes.

For instance, one of the two biggest electronic voting corporations, ES&S (a spinoff of Diebold) was initially funded by rightwing billionaire Howard Ahmanson, who also gave one million dollars to the extremist 'christian' Chalcedon foundatiion, which touts the death penalty for homosexuals (among other things).

These are the people now counting all our votes under a veil of corporate secrecy. These are the people that Bruce McPherson is the toady for.

Well, if I had any respect for Clint Eastwood--and I did, actually--it's gone. Anyone with judgment this screwy, this off-base, this unamerican, cannot be trusted on any matter. He's just a corrupt fascist, like all the rest of them. Anxious for those tax cuts for the rich in California. Squeeze the little guy some more. Enron wasn't enough.

Disgusting.

11. What is Eastwood Actually Saying?
This is very important so that we can counter the "talking points" coming out of Dirty Harry.

12. Eastwood has always been an unabashed Republican
He held public office as a Republican (mayor of Carmel) and as far as I know has always been a one. Shouldn't surprise anyone that he is campaigning for his fellow wingnuts.

14. He's always been a cold fish.
The only class he ever had was his first wife. Maggie's done a marvelous job of rising above the man who treated her so badly - much to the delight of many.

15. We got a call from him today...
Saying to vote for his friend McPherson.

At this point I am getting sick and tired of all the political calls. They are calling all day and night.
