Beware Democrats: Iraq War Vote Deja Vu !!! |
|
No one could ever make me believe that there are more than one or two voters in this entire country who would go to the polls in November and think:
Oh, no way will I vote for a Democrat. They did the most horrible thing in the world, they filibustered against an SC judge nominee!
In fact, I can ONLY see it as an opportunity, if ever criticized for the stance in the future, to F#$$#IN SHOW THAT YOU STOOD UP FOR THE RIGHTS OF ALL AMERICANS !!!
This vote is just like the Iraq vote. If not opposed by Democrats, when Alito is responsible for horrible deeds in the future, they will have to do their traditional song and dance again!

1. "If the war is gonna happen anyway, then why bother voting no or fili'ing? |
|
I mean, we might as well just vote yes. It will help us in elections." (YEAH! That turned out really well, DIDN'T IT?!)

4. But that is what is so absurd ! I can't imagine anyone even |
|
giving a shit, at election time, if you had opposed a SC nominee? If you oppose, you can always justify your opposition by calling to light the persons negatives.
BUT, if you support someone who should be opposed....I submit that the only way a vote could hurt you at election time is if you vote in the affirmative and you should have voted the person down...

2. And they'll blame Democrats for not filibustering.... |
|
When the %$#$%@#$ hits the fan, they'll say "but the Democrats didn't oppose him". Just like the Iraq War; if you try to "please" conservatives by voting with them, they use it against you.

I can already hear the Republicans when Roe v Wade is overturned - "But Justice Alito was confirmed with a bi-partisan vote."
And Democrats won't be able to answer this smear, because they could have stopped this train wreck and didn't.

5. Absolutely - any Dem who wants to use the end of |
|
environmental protections and extreme presidential power just lost that fight without even lacing up. They didn't attempt to filibuster Alito - that is the same as giving him a big, wet one.
