for Joe Donnelly (IN 2nd CD) out here in my Red state. I had a couple nice chats with "undecided" elderly ladies (up to 92) who were small-town Christians but sounded sane, and once we bonded I took the risk of chuckling and saying, "Well, we Democrats aren't perfect, but at least when we get into trouble, it's with members of the OPPOSITE sex!" It drew hearty laughs every time! And I could tell it resonated way beyond the superficial--it confirmed for them, in a cute way, the hypocrisy of the Repulsives.
