9. I don't mean this in a negative way, but... |
|
...I think he's waiting to be begged. If there was an overwhelmingly loud "request" (I'm thinking from voters) for him to run, it would make the campaign much easier for him in terms of initial media coverage. I think he's waiting for it. I hope he's waiting for it.
Gore/Edwards or Gore/Obama in 2008 would make me sing. :)

...and, actually, he should wait until after the election, after the new year, to make that decision and see how the wind is blowing. To say yes now would be premature. He'd be accused (by the pundits) of being self-serving to say it now and take attention away from this election.

Smartest thing he could do is wait until the whole damn crowd has their lighters up, a few doubters are heading for the exits, and then ride down onto the stage for THE rock and roll political encore of the new century.

4. Damn! I Was Hoping He Had Lost Some Weight! |
|
Before I get flamed...modern-day politicians usually trim down before making an announcement that they're going run for office, and Gore himself has been known to "buff and run". So I've been looking for evidence that he's been inviting Jenny Craig to dinner, it would so get my hopes up.
That said, I truly love him the way he is. Chubby and cuddly, or lean and mean, I don't care. Run, Al, run (figuratively speaking)!

23. I don't recall him saying anything specifically about that. |
|
He did say that it was hard to see any easy way to clean up the problems we now have in this country. That could be taken to mean that he believes we'll be getting the chance to try.
He does feel that the consequences of not winning control could be grave.

18. "Al Gore lives on my street, right down the street, President Gore" |
|
I love that song! Al Gore lives on my street, Three-twenty-something, Lynwood Boulevard. And, he doesn’t know me but I voted for him. Yeah, I punched the card! I don’t know how he lives with knowing, That even though he won the popular vote He still lives on my street, right down the street From me.
One time, I had a bike And I was a kid, and someone stole it from me And still I’m mad about that, Carrying anger, I just can’t let it be. I need to be more forgiving, I know it, ’Cause even with the popular vote, Al Gore lives on my street, right down the street, From me.
Life isn’t fair, don’t tell me, I know it ’Cause even with the popular vote, Al Gore lives on my street, right down the street from me President Gore lives on my street, right down the street from me.
Finally, the song seemed to be ending, but then came the voice of Gore himself: “Hey, man, I like your song, but you need to get over all that stuff. Hey, this is a great neighborhood!” .
(Listen to the song here.) http://www.cartoonbank.com/newyorker/slideshows/040913algore.html Al Gore looks damn good for all he had stolen from him, the Presidency of the United States. No small theft!

GOD!! I SO hope he decides to run in '08!
I voted for him in 2000, but I gotta say, ever since his rightful place was stolen out from under him, my respect for him has done nothing but grow.
Always wise, dedicated, and true of heart. He's actually more offended that the country has been damaged, than he is at having been so aggregiously cheated out of the Presidency. That says a LOT about the man.
From my personal perspective, the only thing he doesnt have going for him is, he looks almost exactly like my brother, and every time I see him he looks like him more and more. Ah well.. I'll forgive him.
RUN, AL, RUN!!!!
