I blame John Kerry for my smoking |
|
In 2004 I VOWED to quit my smoking habit if JK took the White House. He didn't and I'm still puffing away like a mad man even worse than before.
Now I'm toying with the idea of making the same vow if we take the Senate. Should I do it?

...you're going to take a pack, put it on the top of the tv and walk away from it forever. If my hubby can do it, I know you can. You see, he started back in LBJ's day.

place to go every time you get a crave. And faster than you know it.. you'll have a good quit underway.

Never put a qualifier as your reason to quit. You just gambling with your self. It kinda you rationalizing in your head(and you may not even be aware)"i can say i'm gonna quit, but i may NOT have to". If you use a qualifier to quit your setting yourself up to fail is what i am saying.
Always quit for you and only you. It can never be about anything but you. You have to make a solid choice on your own and stick by it. Also once you say you quit, call that the day you plant your flag. I say this because most will have some relapse, but if you anchor yourself to a spot and say i quit smoking on such and such a date you can look at it as i just messed up, i'm still quit and i'll get through. Often times a small relapse is enough to make you feel you totally failed, and might as well give up.
I am not a smoker of tobacco, but i have fought some serious substance abuse issues, it's a very tough thing to do.
Good luck on your choice.
