12. Exactly my thought.
Bush sharing a cell with Sadaam. The BFEE would be punished as well.

8. In Charge of Abu Ghraib with Bush and Co. as prisoners.
They created him.
They egged him on.
They supported him and looked the other way
when he stomped on his civilians.

Turnabout is fair play.

5. Executing him would be a huge mistake.
It will make him a martyr to some and just fan the flames of more sectarian violence in Iraq.

Life in prison. Just the basics, with no frills and no privileges.

10. No more death penalty
It's strange to me that so many fundy people are all fired up on abortion, but want to keep the death penalty. Not that some don't deserve it, but who are we to judge?

14. I cannot support the death penalty
Edited on Sat Nov-04-06 11:00 PM by longship
Just like I cannot support torture, I cannot support hanging Saddam, or anybody else, no matter how heinous the crime. We must set standards as human beings. One must be that homocide is wrong no matter whether it is government sanctioned or not.

I would support opening up Spandau Prison for Saddam, with the provision that room also be made for George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, and anybody else who has sanctioned or enabled the illegal war in Iraq or the torture of prisoners in US care. Spandau served as Rudolf Hess's home for many years. May these criminals enjoy long life there.

16. Screw it. Hang the bastard!
I utterly abhor and condemn torture, as it's intentionally prolonged agony. The death penalty, on the other hand, has its place, and Saddam is more than deserving of it. It's not like there's any doubt of his guilt, or that the wrong man is being condemned to death....

17. He should have been tried by the war crimes tribunal at the Hague in the first place.
He's an evil fuck, and probably ought to be thrown in the pokey forever (I don't believe in the death penalty, even for evil fucks), but maybe the worst punishment that could be imposed on him is to set him free and make him president of Iraq. He wouldn't last more than a few days, and even if he did, that has to be the most hopeless job on earth -- considering what a mess we've made of the place.

are going to blow up, i hope many people there can stay inside their homes or whats left of them and try and stay out of the line of fire.

21. Put him back in charge of Iraq
Edited on Sat Nov-04-06 11:21 PM by mbergen
I agree with this - of course I am saying this with tongue in cheek, but that would be a punishment indeed, to have to clean up this mess!

Actually I remember thinking - back when I think I was hearing something about Saddam thinking of running for president - wouldn't it have been ironic if the Iraqi's elected him president and Bush & Co. had to go along with that?
